What is your name? “My name is Lucia Partikova”

Where are you from? “I’m from Slovakia”

What is your age? “23”

Why are you in Cambodia? “Because I wanted to travel to Southeast Asia and it was one of the countries I really wanted to visit and I’ve never been to Cambodia before and I’ve heard a lot about the culture and the people and the nature and so I wanted to go and see. Sometimes I don’t need to have a specific reason to visit a country, sometimes it’s like following my intuition, and so far Cambodia has been a good surprise to me and a good experience in all areas”

Which country’s accent is the most appealing? “Depends if we’re talking about women or men…. but, it’s hard to say, I think it depends…. in general I would say French, of course… French is really sexy”

What comes to mind when you think of Canada? “Usually beautiful nature, mountains, skiing…. British Columbia, attractive men, and maple syrup”

What comes to mind when you think of a hostel? “….Cheap, cozy, cute. Positive vibes of energy. Fun. Young people”

Is traveling important? “Yes, it is. I believe that traveling helps you to explore your inner world as well as the outside world and gives you the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone. I believe that traveling is the best investment I could have ever made”

Does traveling make you a better person? “What is better? In a way, yes it does, because I’m more confident. I believe in my self, and I’m more aware…. By traveling I’m able to minimize all the negativity and people I don’t need in my life, and I’m able to concentrate more on the things I like and want”

Does traveling bring happiness? “Yes, it does. In many ways. I feel happy and grateful everyday while I’m traveling – to see the beauty of the world and the beauty of the people”

What’s your life philosophy? “It’s very simple. It’s all about feeling good and feeling happy and seeing the positive in everything you do and in everything you see. Everything is possible. If you can think it you can become it”

What question would you ask me if we were to switch places? “How did traveling change you?”

So, how has traveling changed you? “Really, I have to answer? I should have chosen ‘what’s your birth date (laughs)?’ By traveling I am more grateful for small things and appreciate the simple life. By seeing different places and people I realized you can live differently than you were taught your whole life and still be happy”

What must someone do to be happy? “It’s very individual. Everybody has a different story, but in general people should stop living in the past and the future”
